The coffee chain teased the launch on Monday by posting a Pumpkin Love O’ Meter quiz on Instagram and then confirmed speculations in a news release the same day. The company even sent out an email revealing the news to certain rewards members, according to the Starbucks Facebook fan page, Leaf Rakers Society. The email called each recipient a Pumpkin Pal thanks to the number of pumpkin drinks the individual ordered in the past year. Some lucky individuals, dubbed Pumpkin Spicelebrities, even received an electronic gift card to enjoy a free pumpkin beverage. This year’s PSL kick-off is one day earlier than 2020, making it the earliest date Starbucks has started selling the popular coffee concoction. Along with the pumpkin spice latte, you’ll also be able to enjoy other fall-inspired favorites, including the pumpkin cream cold brew (my favorite!), the pumpkin cream cheese muffin, and the pumpkin scone. You can also order the pumpkin loaf, but that’s available year-round. There’s no official day when the Seattle-based coffee company stops selling its fall products; you’ll be able to order the items while supplies last. (And, quantities vary from store to store.) If you’re going to head to your local store today, it’s likely going to be very busy, similar to the holiday reusable cup drop date, so be prepared to wait longer than usual. If you’d like to stay home but still get in on the PSL goodness, you’re in luck. Check out our slow cooker pumpkin spice latte and pumpkin spice latte mug cake that you can savor with an autumn-inspired candle burning to really get you ready for sweater weather.
